Waterfall Country Estate
Project Type: Residential – New Build
Client: Hsieh Chen
Program : Residential – New Builds
Status: Council Approval – July 2019
Value: R 9 Million (US $500 000)
Area: 850m²
The design was for a home accommodating a contemporary family lifestyle. It was situated within the Waterfall Estate. In addition to numerous mandatory estate specifications, the project was strongly “driven” by the clients own architectural choices.
In particular, adherence / adaptation of feng shui principles were requested by the client. The selected architectural style sought was a convergence of American country style and Victorian. While overall conformity to client requirements determined the general aesthetic, a number of architectural features were included to layer, accent and characterize the structure. Inter alia, multi-faceted rooflines, ornate trim, large porches and shutters were included.
