The prevailing layout of the dwelling was comprised by significant discrepancies between the inside and outside levels. This arrangement resulted in a disconnect between the living areas and the intended extended use of the entertainment patio and associated pool area.
Seeking to optimize the indoor and outdoor flow capacity, the inside living room was extended outwards and integrated with the outlying entertainment areas with easy graduated wide stairs leading out onto the pool area. The chimney articulated the extended patio.
Acting beyond the original scope of the renovation, architectural changes were also carried out in the entrance hall to create an open visual, “light and bright” connection with the interior and the new additions.
